THE 92 ND AGM OF THE CAREY COLLEGE OLD BOYS UNION

92nd Annual General Meeting of the Carey College Old Boys Union was held on 27th May 2023 at the College Main Hall. Mr. Mervyn Ponniah was re-elected as the President of the Carey College Old Boys Union. Mr. Sultan Hameed & Mr. Irshad Haniffa were elected as the General Secretary & Treasurer respectively for the year 2023/2024.

RAWZAN CAFFOOR THE 1ST XI CAPTAIN WAS FELICITATED BY THE OBU

Rawzan Caffoor the 1st XI captain was felicitated by the OBU during the School Assembly on 4th April 23 for scoring 1100 runs and taking 50 wickets. President of the Carey College OBU Mr. Mervyn Ponniah, handed over "Cricketing Gears" as a token of appreciation in the presence of Madam Principal Mrs Bibile along with vice president Mr. Aslam Thalib. The President during his speech acknowledged the performance and emphasised that with dedication, hard work and commitment everyone could be victorious in life.

A new spacious OBU office was declared opened by the Principal Mrs. Hemamali Bibile and the President at the time Mr. Bertram Mass. All senior members of the OBU were present.

THE PRESIDENT OF CAREY COLLEGE OBU MR MERVYN PONNIAH HANDED OVER FULL SET OF TRACKSUITS FOR THE ENTIRE COLLEGE BOXERS. THE CEREMONY TOOK PLACE ON 15TH MARCH 2023, AT THE OFFICE OF THE PRINCIPAL MRS BIBILE. ALSO PRESENT WERE THE VP MR AZHAR, COACH, MIC, POG, THE CURRENT CAPTAIN AND THE MOST JUNIOR BOXER.

DONATION OF WATER BOILERS

At the request of the welfare society of the school, water boilers for the teacher's rest rooms in the Primary and Secondary sections were donated by the Carey College OBU President Mr. Mervyn Ponniah, on March 31st, 2023 at the Principal's office. Madam Principal Mrs Bibile along with Mrs. Menaka Perera , the President of the School Welfare Association, its secretary Mrs. Ruvini Liyanage, and the Media Secretary of the OBU, Mr. Anushka Fernando participated.

DONATION OF BASKETBALLS AND SOCCER BALLS FOR THE COLLEGE

President of the Carey College Old Boys' Union, Mr. Mervyn Ponniah, donated basketballs and Soccer balls to the teams at the main assembly of the college recently. On that occasion, Principal Mrs. Bibile, Mr. Aslam Thalib (Vice President), Two Mic's, Mr. Manoj & Mr. Sajana and the two Vice Principals, Team Captains & Vice Captains also participated.
